Your friendly neighbourhood General Manager here, welcoming you to the very first post on our brand new blog, on our brand new website. Phew! There's a lot of "new" happening around these parts, but in all honesty that may be a matter of perspective… as a new General Manager, I've been learning the ropes of how to… well, be a General Manager for a Theatre Company, as well as helping launch a new on-line presence for a company that has been around for nearly 20 years! So as we welcome the new, we wouldn't be here without the old!
Here at the Backstage Blog, our goal is to provide you, our dear reader/potential audience member with a peek behind the curtain… what does it take to mount a production? Who exactly is building that set, organizing that rehearsal, casting that show, and cleaning up afterwards? And what the heck happens when there isn't a show going on?! Believe it or not, there is a LOT going on, and all the time! And not only do we have a terrific cast onstage for our upcoming production of HENRY IV, PARTS 1 & 2 (whom we look forward to introducing to you soon!), but there is an equally interesting cast of characters behind the scenes, putting everything in place so that when the lights go down (or in our case, the sun…) you have a fantastic show to watch!
Thank you for checking us out!
